Biochemistry and Biotechnology Travel Grant Program

Purpose: To provide financial support for BCBT students to present their research at a scientific conference.

Who is eligible: Declared BS or MS BCBT students in good standing (i.e. not on probation) who are engaged in research with a BCBT faculty member and who plan to present his/her research in either poster or oral form at a conference.

Award Level: Up to $500 toward documented expenses (usually conference fee, travel expenses, etc.) per student per 12 month period. Award expenditures are subject to University Guidelines

Application Materials:

  1. Cover Page Form
  2. 1 page CV of student
  3. Copy of submitted abstract for the meeting
  4. Letter/email from faculty advisor confirming the student's research involvement and approval to present research at the meeting.
  5. Submit these items electronically to bcbtinfo@umsl.edu

Deadline: Rolling. 1 month prior to travel.

Post Award: Students must file travel preapproval form at least 2 weeks prior to travel. Awardees will be assisted by staff both before and after travel to execute appropriate disbursement of funds.
